: Written informed consent was obtained from each participant by the research assistant and FA before each interview. After the potential participant read the informed consent document, the research assistant reviewed it with them and asked if they had any questions. Once we had discussed all their concerns, they were asked to sign the consent form. Phone interviewees signed the consent forms electronically or gave verbal consent after full information disclosure. The study protocol, interview guide, and informed consent forms were reviewed and approved by the University of KwaZulu-Natal Biomedical Research Ethics Committee (BREC) with reference number BREC/00000525/2019.
