: No ethics approval nor consent was needed for snail collections done on public land. The protocol for veterinary research was approved by the Ethical Committee of the Department of Zoology, S.G.N. Governmental Post Graduate College, Muhammadabad, Gohana, MAU-2776403, Uttar Pradesh, India (Approval No. AA-01-2016, 28 October 2016). Liver parasite samples were obtained from buffaloes previously sacrificed in official slaughterhouses. No animal was killed for the experimental purposes.
