Declarations
:
: The Medical Ethical Committee of VU University Medical Center declared (reference 2019.399) that the Dutch Medical Research Involving Human Subjects Act (WMO) does not apply to this qualitative part of the STEPS project. Consequently, official approval by the Medical Ethical Committee was not required.
: All participants provided written informed consent.
: The behavioral change stage icons were designed by Feline Zegers and are the copyright property of Amsterdam UMC, location VUmc.
: Ragna van Hummel is director and owner of Re-turn, a reintegration consultancy company specialized in the work participation guidance of cancer survivors. She was consulted during the development of the SusTained Employability in cancer Patients and their partnerS (STEPS) intervention, i.e., she was asked to provide feedback on the framework and logic model underlying the intervention, and to consider whether proposed intervention elements would be effective vis-à-vis standard reintegration practice in the Netherlands. Furthermore, Re-turn reintegration consultants will be employed as intervention providers within our randomized controlled trial to assess the (cost-)effectiveness of the STEPS intervention. The other authors have no conflict of interest to declare.
