: Entry into the Car Nicobar Island is regulated by the Andaman and Nicobar Islands (Protection of Aboriginal Tribes Regulation) 1956. We fulfilled the necessary requirements to visit Car Nicobar Island. We obtained the necessary permission from the Chief Captain of the Tribal council, Car Nicobar Island to conduct the personal interviews. The permission from the Tribal Council and the interviews with the Nicobarese community were carried out by the staff of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), a constituent unit of ICAR- Central Island Agricultural Research Institute located in the Car Nicobar Island. The staff of KVK, Car Nicobar residing in Car Nicobar were engaged in the personal interviews including the identification of respondents, and conduct of the interviews with verbal consent for participation and publication. Ethical standards were considered during the interviews by following Patankar et al. (CitationRef removed) and Patankar (CitationRef removed).
