: This study was performed in line with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki. The protocol for isolating BMSC was approved by the Regional Committees for Medical and Health Research Ethics (REK) in Norway (2020/7199/REK sør-øst C). The peripheral blood for Treg isolation was approved from Haukeland Blood Bank Bergen, Norway. No ethical approval was required for Treg because it used anonymized human tissue samples (i.e peripheral blood). All participants provided written informed consent.
