: The Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens is authorized to perform the forensic investigation of more than one third of violent and sudden deaths occurring in Attica (Athens metropolitan area). The study was approved by the Ethics Committee of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in the context of a broader study concerning the causes of death of people with psychiatric history (631/05-05-2022) and data were collected and processed anonymously.
