: The tissue samples used in this study were obtained through the body donation program at Amsterdam University Medical Centers (UMC), Academic Medical Center (AMC). All experiments according to the Dutch Burial and Cremation Act, donation to science is an accepted final destination for human remains. The body donation procedure at AMC is not subject to medical ethics review, as it falls outside the scope of the Dutch Act on Human Subject Research.
: The Department of Health Law at AMC approved the body donation procedure, and the Medical Ethics Committee provided a waiver for studies using donated bodies. The Department of Medical Biology, responsible for the body donation program, reviewed the protocols, methodologies, and potential ethical, privacy, and environmental issues. Written consent was obtained from all donors, allowing the use of their bodies and information for taphonomic studies and publication purposes.
