: Our study complies with the Declaration of Helsinki. For this study sample, collection and handling of aortic tissue were carried out according to the official guidelines of the Medical Ethical Committee of the LUMC, the AUMC, and the Central Hospital and approval for this study was granted by the Medial Ethical (reference number B21.051/MS/ms). All patients gave written informed consent.All control specimens were obtained post-mortem. Obduction was performed according to the guidelines of the pathology department. Tissue collection was performed according to the regulations and protocols for secondary tissue use of the dept. of pathology at the Leiden University Medical Center.
