: Secondary data were used for the study. In obtaining the micro data, a request was made on the National Bureau of Statistics website and approval was granted to download the data, hence, there were no ethical issues of concern.
: This study utilized publicly and freely available data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) and the World Bank. There are no participant identifiers in this secondary dataset. Ethics approval for the study protocol was granted by the National Health Research Ethics Committee of Nigeria, Federal Ministry of Health and adhered to the Helsinki principles.
