: The study has been realized using the data collected by the Swiss Centre of Expertise in the Social Sciences FORS for the Swiss Household Panel Project (SHP). According to the authors of the panel data (Voorpostel et al., CitationRef removed), the SHP does not fall under the law on research on human beings. Therefore, according to the local rules and regulations, SHP does not require ethical approval. Data collection followed the ethical standards defined by the Declaration of Helsinki. Participation was voluntary and data collection was completely anonymized (via IDs). Participants were informed they could withdraw at any moment. The authors of the present study do not have access to the correspondence between the IDs and the participants’ identifying names/surnames.
