Declarations
:
: The research project was submitted to the Norwegian Agency for Shared Services in Education and Research (SIKT; https://sikt.no/en/home) and received their recommendation. The research group followed the Norwegian ethical guidelines developed by The National Committee for Research Ethics in the Social Sciences and the Humanities (NESH; https://www.forskningsetikk.no/en/about-us/our-committees-and-commission/nesh/).
: Participants were recruited through the SELMA project. Informed consent was obtained from all individual participants included in the study.
: The SELMA research project was funded by the Research Council of Norway (grant no 318626). The Savings Bank Foundation DNB gave additional funding for the development of all ECEC resources in the project. Although members of the research team developed the intervention (Størksen et al., ), all royalties for the resources were waived to the Norwegian Save the Children organization (Redd Barna) to avoid potential conflicts of interest, especially in relation to the overarching RCT study. The authors therefore declare that they have no competing interests.
