: The research was in accordance with APA ethical research and publication guidelines (American Psychological Association, ) and the Declaration of Helsinki (World Medical Association, ). An informal consultation with faculty at the authors’ institutions indicated that ethics committee approval was not required for this type of observational, non-interventional study involving a non-vulnerable population. Participation in the study was voluntary and the participants were informed of the purpose of the survey. A point of contact was provided at the end of the survey to provide participants an opportunity to ask questions about the research or have their data removed. The full extent of confidentiality was explained through the form directly, and participants could withdraw without consequences by closing the tab on which the Google Form was open. Data was stored using MS Excel. Data was deidentified before analysis. The population studied was non-clinical. The form pointed participants toward mental health helplines based in India if they felt distressed.
