: During the finalization of this manuscript, 30 containers of archaeological material were identified in storage at the Museu do Grupo de Amigos de Montemor‑o‑Novo (GAM) . Of these, 15 contain material exclusively from Escoural Cave, while three appear to include assemblages from the cave, possibly the nearby tholos, and the adjacent prehistoric settlement. The remaining containers hold material from the settlement, some possibly from the Escoural tholos, as well as from other sites in the region. The Escoural Cave material is marked with original labels indicating excavation in 1968, specifically from galleries 5 and 7. The contents consist primarily of human bone remains, including crania, together with pottery fragments - some corresponding to relatively large vessels - charcoal, and faunal remains, mostly Leporidae. This recent identification provides important archival context, supplementing the known assemblage from Escoural and underscoring the continued relevance of curated collections for reassessing past excavations. The identification of these containers was formally reported to the Portuguese Heritage Board on 14 November 2025 by two of the authors (ACA, DG).
