Compliance with Ethical Standards
: All studies were conducted at the LAFAM in compliance with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) principles of GLP and in accordance with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) guidelines 423 and 408 for testing of chemicals (OECD 1998, 2002) as well as FDA Guidance for Industry and Other Stakeholders, “Toxicological Principles for the Safety Assessment of Food Ingredients Redbook 2000 – Subchronic Toxicity Studies with Rodents” (FDA 2007). All procedures in the present studies were approved by the Committee on Animal Research Ethics (CARE), UiTM (UiTM Care No. 70/2015).
