: The protocol of this study was approved by the Faculty of Medicine Cairo University Ethics Committee after taking consent from local health authorities and all participants. Moreover, the used procedures of handling the animals, collection of samples, and the use of the patients' samples in this study were assessed and approved by the institutional review board of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Ethical Committee (Vet CU20022020132) of Cairo University. The present study was conducted during the period from December 2019 to March 2020 in the Department of Parasitology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University.
