: Informed consent was obtained from all individual participants before starting the study. Participation in the study was entirely voluntary and optional. Participants were free to skip questions and end the interview at any moment without consequence. To further preserve the confidentiality of the sex workers we interviewed, there were no identifying ties between the participant’s name, address, phone number, or any other piece of information that may be used to personally connect them to the transcript or recording of the interview.
