: This pilot study examines the discrepancy between self-assessment and peer assessment of bad-news communication skills among medical students in an oncology course. The findings provide preliminary evidence questioning the assumption of universal overestimation bias, with relevance to the design of formative feedback and confidence calibration in cancer communication training curricula.
