: The authors confirm that the ethical policies of the journal, as noted on the journal’s author guidelines page, have been adhered to and the appropriate ethical review committee approval has been received. The procedure to obtain ASCs from tumescent liposuction was approved by the ethics committee of the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin (approval number EA2/127/07), and the patient undergoing the tumescent liposuction has given informed consent prior to the surgical intervention. All methods were performed in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations. All animal experiments were approved by the local authority LAGeSo (Landesamt für Gesundheit und Soziales, Berlin approval numbers G0385/17 and G0132/19) and conducted according to the European Communities Council Directive of 22 September 2010 (2010/63/EU).
