: This research did not require ethics approval. The methods used do not include manipulation of animal species and no animal ethics approval was needed or permission by an institutional or governmental regulatory body. Our research did not include any invasive technique that required handling or capture of live animals. Our methods were strictly based on camera traps, a non-invasive technique which therefore does not compromise the welfare of our study species. We had all required permissions to access the PAs and private lands during fieldwork.
: Not applicable, our research does not involve any informed consent from people. However, we did have the permissions from all landowners or managers to conduct the study.
