: Animals were not harmed for the purpose of this study. The samples from Victoria Island were obtained within the framework of the “Pilot Plan for the Control Hunting of Red Deer (Cervus elaphus), Fallow Deer (Dama dama), and European Wild Boar (Sus scrofa) on Isla Victoria” implemented within the “Program for Invasive Vertebrate Species of Nahuel Huapi National Park” (Disp. 373/2010). The procedures for obtaining samples followed the guidelines established by the American Society of Mammalogists (ASM) for the use of wild animals in research (Sikes and Animal Care and Use Committee of the ASM 2016).
