The Ethics Committee of Constantine, the Philosopher University in Nitra, approved the research and methods. All trapping and subsequent handling of the small mammals were conducted by the appointment of Dr Michal Ambros (employed by the State Nature Protection of the Slovak Republic) as mapping coordinator for important European small mammal species and from 2019 performed with the approval of the Ministry of Environment of the Slovak Republic by permission no. 4850/2019–6.3, dated 25th April 2019.
