: This research project was coordinated with the ethical guidelines provided by the Institutional ethics committee, Manipal College of Dental Science, Mangalore (Protocol no.22072). Informed consent was required from each participant before enrolment in the study. The research preserved the confidentiality of each participant.
: This study received approval from the institutional ethics committee. We included 50 patients (35 diagnosed with T2DM and 15 controls) who had come for routine dental treatment to our department were included in the study and met our inclusion criteria. All participants provided written informed consent before enrolling for the study.
