: Northumbria University seeks to uphold the principles of research integrity in all research conducted by its staff and students as such staff must comply with the General Data Protection Regulations in the UK and Northumbria University’s Ethical Governance in Research Policy, and Research Data Management Policy.The manuscript documents a pilot of CCIIOH in primary schools. Ethical approval was granted by the University for evaluation research activities of Climate Change it’s in Our Hands on 09/01/2023 review reference Hocking 2023–0432-1053.

: Informed consent was given by the participating teachers and by the school Head Teachers in loco parentis for the participation of children. Assent to participate of was sought from pupils on the day of the pilots.

: Consent to publish was included on the loco parentis forms signed by participating teachers and Head Teachers. Teachers involved in the co-design have reviewed the paper and given written consent to participate. The participatory design company has also reviewed the paper and given written consent to participate.
