Ethical Approval: In accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) regulatory framework, Mirador Analytics Inc. has conducted a statistical disclosure risk analysis of Komodo’s Komodo + OMNY dataset. This constitutes an Expert Determination as set out in 45 CFR § 164.514(b)(1). The Expert Determination confirmed that the dataset met the HIPAA Expert Determination de-identification standard. Accordingly, approval from an institutional review board was not required, and informed consent was not obtained.
