: The animal studies were approved by the Bioethical Committee (protocol # BEC-FBSQAU2020-294) of Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, Pakistan. Healthy albino rats obtained from the National Institute of Health, Islamabad, Pakistan, were used for in vivo experiments. They were kept in standard conditions including day-night 12-h cycles, moderate room temperature (22 ± 1 °C) and humidity (55 ± 5%) and fed with standard rat feed as per the recommendations of the ARRIVE guidelines (Version 2). Rats were randomly divided into control and treatment groups (n = 5).
