Significance statement
: This study attempts to estimate the impact of one of the important policies of recent times DBT (pilot) scheme on fertilizers. Since evidence of the performance of this scheme using proper econometric methods is not available to date, our findings are valuable and contribute to the literature on policy impact assessment in India.
