International standards regarding the execution of epidemiologic studies, included in the International Guidelines for Ethical Review of Epidemiologic Studies (Council for the International Organizations of Medical Sciences – CIOMS, Geneva, 1991), have been followed, in addition to the recommendations of the Spanish Epidemiological Society (SEE) regarding the review of all ethical aspects of the epidemiological study.
