: This study was conducted as a part of a larger study, “Center for Training Research and Innovation in Tribal Health (CTRITH)” with a focus on establishing a population-based hemoglobinopathy registry for three major blood-related disorders- SCD, thalassemia, and G6PD deficiency, funded by DBT Wellcome Trust India Alliance. This study has received ethical approval from the ethics committee of JSS Medical College (JSSMC/IEC/05012022/02NCT/22021-22 dated 14 January 2022) and the Institute of Public Health Bengaluru (IPH/24–25/E/173 dated 7 October 2024). The written consent has been obtained from all participants to enrol in the registry. The study was performed following the ethical standards as laid down in the 1964 Declaration of Helsinki and its later amendments.
