: There are ethical and efficacy implications in considering high school students’ preferences for praise and reprimand. When delivering praise, teachers should match students with their preferred method of praise and reprimand. If preferences are unknown, or when praise is delivered universally (Tier 1) it appears safe to deliver praise privately to high school students.
