: The ethical standards of the American Psychiatric Association and the Declaration of Helsinki were followed in this study (World Medical Association Declaration of Helsinki: ethical principles for medical research involving human subjects, CitationRef removed). The study was granted ethics committee approval before the onset of the study (2012, 2013, 2015) from the Helsinki University Hospital ethical committee of psychiatry (nr:106/13/03/03/2012) and research approval from the University Hospital board was received in 2012, 2013, and 2015. This study was retrospectively registered with ClinicalTrials.gov with the identifier: NCT04892992 on May 18, 2021. All the procedures performed in the study are in accordance with the ethical standards of the institutional research committee and with the 1964 Helsinki Declaration and its later amendments. Informed consent to participate in this study was obtained both orally and in writing from participants (parents in the families) included in the study. The researcher was not involved in any way directly with the families and did not deliver DFG to the families taking part in this study, to maintain objectivity in this research process.
