: Growing Up in Ireland (GUI) received ethical approval from a dedicated Research Ethics Committee set up by the Irish government Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (DCEDIY). The GUI data is managed by the Irish Central Statistics Office (CSO) under the confidentiality requirements of the Statistics Act, 1993. For the present study, access to the GUI Research Microdata Files (RMF) has been granted under strict control by the CSO and in compliance with the RMF policies. Ethical approval for the present study has been granted by the School of Social Work and Social Policy Research Ethics Committee at Trinity College Dublin.
