National Inpatient Sample (NIS) HCUP website patient sample was used to collect data for obese patients with loss of muscle strength and mass and BMI ≥ 30 from 2006 to 2008 African American gender group. Their data is available for purchase by physicians, medical students, and health care professionals. Dr. Mohan Palla, Smart Asare, MD, and Aubin Sandio, MD all contributed close to $2500. Other future research information was also made available for future research due to bulk purchase of data.
