: The animal protocol for this study was reviewed and approved by the Health Research Ethics Committee of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos with approval number: CMUL/HREC/21/670. All the plant experiments/protocols were performed with relevant institutional, national, and international guidelines and legislation. To collect the sample, the agreement letter was approved by the Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. All experiments were conducted without anesthesia, and the protocol adhered to the guidelines set forth by the National Institute of Health (1985) for laboratory animal care and use.
