: Not applicate. The images were obtained at LACEN (Pernambuco Central Laboratory). It is a reference laboratory in the quality control of parasitological exams. About 20% of all slides analysed in the State of Pernambuco are transported to LACEN, without patient identification. Therefore, it was not necessary to submit an ethics committee for this paper.
