: Human landing collections of black flies were in accordance with the ethical standards of the Osun State Ministry of Health and Osun State University Ethics Committee (UNIOSUN/HREC/2014/006). Informed consent was also obtained from community heads and the individuals who volunteered for human landing collections. The black fly collectors were already on annual treatment with ivermectin as part of the National Onchocerciasis Control Programme (NOCP) before the commencement of the study.
