: According to the Guidelines of the National Standards of the People’s Republic of China for Laboratory Animal-Welfare Ethical Review, since the soil samples were collected by observing the spontaneous living behaviors of toads in the routine breeding process of toads, the experiment did not include the execution of toads and the collection of tissue samples, which would not cause any harm or risk to individual toads. This study does not involve animal ethics category, hence ethical approval was not required.
