: Human uterus was obtained from healthy, pregnant patients (<i>n</i> = 8 patients) undergoing elective C-section in accordance with the institutional review board (IRB)-approved protocol (#AAAI0337). De-identified human uterine tissue from the superior margin of the uterine incision was collected from patients at 38–40 weeks of gestation. For comparative purposes, non-pregnant human uterus samples were obtained after hysterectomies of similarly aged women (<i>n</i> = 4 patients), as is described in the IRB-approved protocol (#AAAI0337).
