: Animals handling was done humanely following the guidelines/criteria for managing laboratory animal use and care National Institutes of Health (US) (1986) and recommendations. Also, the rats were managed using recommendations of the University of Ibadan Animal Care and Use Research Ethics Committee. All the techniques were reviewed and assented by the committee with allotted number UI-ACUREC/016–0122/24.
