: The bird capture and handling procedures conducted in this study followed all ethical and legal guidelines for the use of wildlife in scientific research in Brazil. Field activities were authorized by the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio/SISBIO), under license nº 83775-3, issued on December 1 st, 2022, for the project “Effects of forest loss and fragmentation on ecological interactions between plants and birds in the Atlantic Forest”, affiliated with Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP).
