: This study received ethical approval from the University of Cape Town’s Ethics Committee (Approval Number: SCI/01339/2024) on 20 February 2024. The scope of approval covered all research activities involving human participants, including interviews, focus groups, and field observations. All research procedures were performed in accordance with the ethical guidelines and regulations of the University of Cape Town and the principles outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki. All participants were fully informed about the nature and purpose of the research, their rights, and their ability to withdraw at any stage without consequence. Written informed consent was obtained from all participants prior to their involvement in the study. No deviations from the approved protocol occurred during the course of the research. All participants were adults and provided informed consent prior to data collection. Consent forms explained the study purpose, voluntary participation, right to withdraw without consequence, and data protection measures. Where literacy constraints arose, research-ethics–approved verbal consent was obtained in the presence of a witness and documented in the field log.
