: This study received full ethical clearance from the Institutional Review Board of Borana University’s College of Agriculture (Reference: Agr/11/2024, dated 25/11/2024), confirming compliance with both international and institutional research ethics standards. The research protocol strictly adhered to the ethical principles outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki and the Hawassa University’s principles and research guidelines. Oral informed consent was obtained from all participants including focus group discussants, key informants, and survey smallholder farmers prior to their involvement in the study, which took place between November 17 and November 30, 2024. The consent process was conducted by the principal investigator, co-investigators, and trained local research assistants. Participants were youths residing in the Konso zone, Karat Zuria districts, of the southern Ethiopia. They received clear and comprehensive information about the study’s purpose, procedures, and the potential benefits of participation.
