Ethics approval and consent to participate: This study involving human participants was conducted in accordance with the ethical principles of the Declaration of Helsinki and in compliance with Brazilian National Health Council Resolution No. 466/2012 and applicable institutional regulations. The full research protocol, including semi-structured interviews conducted in both Brazil and the Netherlands, was reviewed and approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (CEP-UFMG), Brazil (CAAE: 84389524.6.0000.5149; Review Report No. 7.511.776; approved on April 16, 2025). All participants were informed about the objectives, procedures, potential risks, and voluntary nature of the study prior to participation. Written informed consent was obtained from all interviewees before data collection. Participation was entirely voluntary, and participants were informed of their right to withdraw at any time without any consequences. Data were anonymized and handled in accordance with applicable data protection standards.

Consent for publication: The manuscript does not contain any individual person’s identifiable data. All interview data were anonymized prior to analysis. Therefore, additional consent for publication is not required.
