: This study involved human research participants and was conducted in accordance with established ethical standards. Ethical approval was granted by the University of Mauritius (UoM) Research Ethics Committee following the review of the amended application for ethical clearance dated 20 August 2019, which addressed the views and comments of the Committee. The approval covered the MPhil/PhD research project entitled “Design of a User-Friendly Smart and Assistive Kitchen for the Elderly.” All research procedures were carried out in accordance with the ethical guidelines, regulations, and requirements of the University of Mauritius Research Ethics Committee.
