: Good morning/afternoon, my name is Samuel Degarege Ngusie recruited as an enumerator. This research is being conducted by Samuel Degarege Ngusie and Elias Mamushet who are full-time lecturers and researchers at Dilla University, Ethiopia. Purpose of the study: The overall aim of the study is to assess and vandalize the ancient emergency power backup system and keep the performance of the critical sectors in the Gedeo zone. The study affirms the continuity of critical loads for public safety, life-saving, equipment protection, and other useful operations. Our research will also add to the body of knowledge on power backup systems for neighboring urban regions and zones in Ethiopia. Lastly, it will used as a reference for future investigations on emergency sources, enriching academic discourse and offering a framework for comparable assessments in other places. What will happen during this study: We are now interviewing sample sectors, and you are sampled for this study based on a random sampling process without any other preconditions. All information that you give us will remain strictly private and confidential, and we, therefore, kindly request you to give genuine responses freely. We use this information from all respondents in a completely anonymous way. The research findings will be presented anonymously, and your name will never be associated with any of the research results. The questions we ask are only about what you think. There are no right or wrong answers because this is not a test. What are the benefits and risks of participating in this study: There are no immediate benefits, and there are no specific risks for research participants. What happens if you do not want to take part in this study: Whether you decide to take part in this study/interview is voluntary. But the information you provide will be an input for concerned government bodies such as water and energy sectors existing at national, regional, zonal, and woreda levels, and other stakeholders such as private traders and NGOs who have been engaged in UPS production by providing effective strategies related to addressing urban sectors energy crisis by shifting towards clean energy.
