: Slaughter of broiler chickens was carried out in accordance with the guidelines of the Animal Ethics Committee of the Department of Animal Production and Health (FUNAAB-APH23-05), as approved by the Experimental Review Committee of the College of Animal Science and Livestock Production, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun state, Nigeria. Guidelines of the Animal Welfare Committee of the Institution [] and the Ethical Committee of the Department of Animal Product and Health (FUNAAB-APH23-05) regarding procedures for sensory evaluation was strictly adhered to, as panellists’ autonomy, beneficence, justice and confidentiality were considered.
: Approval for panellists’ evaluation of cooked meat samples of birds fed dietary BeP was granted by the Ethical Committee of the Department of Animal Production and Health (FUNAAB-APH23-05). Panellists evaluation of meat samples was carried out in accordance with the 7 principles guiding human participants for sensory studies, as well as the “Minimal Risks” on page 8 of the brochure on research ethics from the US National Institute of Health (NIH). Also, the IFST Guidelines for Ethical and Professional Practices for Sensory Analysis of Foods was strictly adhered to.
