: Ethical approval for this study was granted by the Ethics Review Committee of the Medical Research Institute (MRI) of Sri Lanka, as per the approval letter dated 26 July 2021. The study was conducted under the project titled “Fiscal Policies and Regulations to Promote Healthy Diets in Sri Lanka.” The committee reviewed the research proposal, data collection instruments (including the questionnaire), the participant information sheet, and consent forms. In accordance with the ethical standards set by the committee, and as outlined in the approved ethics statement, the research was conducted in full compliance with relevant national and international guidelines and regulations governing research involving human participants.
: All participants provided written informed consent to participate in the study. The consent form explained the study’s purpose, procedures, and voluntary nature. Participants acknowledged that they understood the research objectives and that their participation was entirely voluntary. They were informed of their right to withdraw from the study at any time without any consequences.
: Participants consented to the use of anonymised data for research dissemination. They were assured that all information provided would be treated with strict confidentiality and that no personally identifiable details would be disclosed. All data presented in the manuscript have been fully anonymized and do not contain any identifying information.
