The protocol of the study was approved by the Institutional Ethics Committee of Madras Diabetes Research Foundation, Chennai. Written informed consent was obtained from all the participants in the study. For the children, written informed consent was obtained from the parents (mother of the respective child) prior to the sensory evaluation studies.
: Finger millet (GPU 67, GPU 28, and KMR 340) and foxtail millet (SIA 3088, SIA 3154) varieties were obtained from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore (AICRP on Small Millets) which complies with national guidelines with no need for further affirmation.
