: The study was conducted in accordance with the Helsinki Declaration. The questionnaire and methodology for this study were approved by the General/Human Research Ethics Committee of the University of the Free State (ethical clearance reference number: UFS-HSD 2019/0638). P. afra collection and cultivation complied with relevant institutional and national guidelines. As the plants were commercially acquired and cultivated on private university property, no specific collection licenses for wild plant species were required. Informed consent was obtained from all individual participants included in the study.
