: Before the commencement of the study, the first author applied for ethical clearance from the University of the Witwatersrand Ethics Committee and thus obtained ethics protocol number H19/03/18. Permission to conduct the study was further granted by the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE). We confirm that all methods were carried out in accordance with the University of the Witwatersrand’s and GDE’s ethical guidelines and regulations.
: “Informed” consent was obtained. For example: the teachers gave individually written informed consent and were ensured confidentiality and anonymity, particularly when considering that their lessons were also video recorded during the observations.
