: The corporate Institutional Review Board committee from the lead partnering organization approved the study protocol based on acknowledging that it does not meet the definition of human subjects research. In Kenya, the AMREF Ethics & Scientific Review Committee (ESRC) also approved the study. During data collection, in line with the ethical standards as laid down in the 1964 Declaration of Helsinki and its later amendments, we ensured participants understood the objectives of the activity, participated voluntarily, and their confidentiality was protected. This study did not involve experiments on humans nor the use of human tissue samples.
